Some European countries are planning the shutdown of the 3G network, such as Germany in mid-2021. In the event of a 3G shutdown, Stromer OMNI will still be able to access the existing 2G network. As a result communication will still be possible via the 2G network.
Stromer E-Bike: Private leasing
If you are a private individual interested in a leasing or financing model for a Stromer e-bike, please contact our Stromer dealers directly. Interesting, individual financing models or e-bike subscriptions are offered in many countries.
For employee leasing offers we cooperate with various partners. Learn more about Stromer e-bike leasing on our leasing page.
Stromer E-Bike: Performing changes yourself
In principle, work of any kind on your Stromer e-bike should only be carried out by a Stromer specialist dealer.
Stromer ST1: OMNI for models until October 2021
For Stromer ST1 models produced before October 2021, an upgrade to OMNI is unfortunately not possible, as the requirements are not available in the older OMNI B. You would need to have a new OMNI display/interface installed that meets these requirements.
Stromer e-Bike: Child seat
Before fitting a child seat on your Stromer e-bike, bear in mind that children are protected better in a trailer than in a child seat on the carrier.
Please remember that a child seat affects the road behavior of the Stromer. Ride with caution and adjust your speed and riding style to the conditions. The high center of gravity in particular makes parking the Stromer on the side stand more difficult. The Stromer could tip over with the child still in the seat. Please inquire with the responsible authorities about the legal situation regarding the carriage of children on S-Pedelecs (see also: Differences between Pedelec and S-Pedelec and legal regulations for EU and Switzerland).
Important: When fitting child seats, please note that the Stromer carrier has only been tested for a maximum load of 17 kg/22.5 kg (depending on the model). Therefore, only use child seats that can be mounted directly on the seat tube (ST2 Ø = 42 mm). Especially in the case of comfort frames with a low step-over height, there is not always sufficient space for the bracket. We therefore recommend checking whether it can be fitted before you buy.
Stromer ST1 X, ST2, ST2 S: Spare key
All keys for the Stromer ST1 X, ST2 or ST2 S are provided with serial numbers and can be reordered by your Stromer dealer. You will find the key number in the Stromer OMNI app under “Service booklet”/“Camlock”. As each key is a one-off production, delivery can take some time. The key can be ordered by you or your dealer at www.camlock.com/de/ersatzschluessel.
Alternatively, you can also have the whole lock mechanism replaced by your dealer.
Stromer ST1, ST1 X, ST2, ST2 S, ST3, ST5: Factory warranty
The factory warranty applies to all Stromer specialist dealers and is independent of where you bought your Stromer Speed Pedelec. Take advantage of our Store locator, to find a specialist dealer near you and contact them directly. For further information on the warranty period, warranty scope and exclusion of warranty, please refer to the Stromer warranty provisions.
Stromer E-Bike: Leasing via employer
If your employer does not yet have a contract with a leasing partner, they must contact one of the Stromer leasing partners and conclude a framework agreement. You can find an overview of Stromer leasing partners on our leasing page.
Stromer e-bike leasing
In Switzerland, Germany, Belgium, and the Netherlands, we work together with various leasing providers who enable you to lease an e-bike through your employer.
Your employer must have a contractual relationship with one of our leasing partners. Please contact your employer (fleet manager or HR department) in this regard.
You can also find out about private leasing options.
Stromer e-Bike: Mounting a trailer
You can attach a trailer to your Stromer Speed Pedelec. For this you need the Trailer plate kit as a coupling. When buying a new Stromer you can buy the trailer plate kit in the Stromer Bike Configurator directly as an optional accessory. You can obtain it separately from your Stromer specialist dealer. The professional assembly is carried out by the dealer.
Attention: The legal regulations for the use of trailers and child seats on Speed Pedelecs vary from country to country. Please inquire with the responsible authorities in your country whether driving with a trailer is permitted in your country (see also: Differences between Pedelec and S-Pedelec and legal regulations for EU and Switzerland).
Please remember that a trailer affects the handling of your Stromer e-bike. On tight bends, certain trailers have a tendency to tip over. For this reason, ride with caution and adjust your speed and riding style to the conditions. Some trailers are only approved by their manufacturers for use with bicycles or Pedelecs (pedal assistance up to 25 km/h). Please always observe the advice of the trailer manufacturer. Your Stromer specialist dealer will gladly advise you about the options.
Stromer E-Bike: Ordering spare parts
Unfortunately, we do not have the possibility to send you spare parts for your Stromer e-bike directly.
Please contact a Stromer dealer, as they can order the parts you need.
Add-ons such as batteries, chargers, tires and bags can also be requested from a Stromer dealer of your choice via our Add-ons page.
Stromer ST1 (OMNI Interface B): Using access data of the Stromer OMNI app for the Stromer OMNI BT app
The access data for your Stromer OMNI account is valid for both the Stromer OMNI app and the Stromer OMNI BT app. This means that you can use them in both apps.
Stromer ST1 from October 2021: Using the OMNI BT app
For your Stromer ST1 built after October 2021, you can use both the Stromer OMNI BT app with Bluetooth and the Stromer OMNI app with basic features. With the OMNI app with basic features, however, you cannot make any motor settings.
Using OMNI app for used Stromer
To be able to use the Stromer OMNI app for your used Stromer, an authorized Stromer dealer must connect the bike to your Stromer OMNI account.
Please also ask the seller or previous owner of your Stromer s-pedelec to commission the transfer of the Stromer from his or her dealer. This ensures that he or she has actually sold or intends to sell the vehicle.
- Download the Stromer OMNI app to your smartphone (from the App Store or from the Google Play Store).
- Your dealer creates a Stromer OMNI account for you.
- Provide your dealer with the following information:
- First and last name
- E-mail address
- Cell phone number
- VIN of the purchased/sold Stromer
As soon as your dealer has registered you, use the Stromer OMNI app to create a PIN for your Stromer under “Settings”/”Change PIN”. This will automatically be sent to your bike and to your registered cell phone number. You can now make full use of your used Stromer.
How-to-video:
Stromer OMNI: Free of charge
Stromer OMNI can be used free of charge. Once you have completed the activation, the OMNI module remains activated for an unlimited period of time and works worldwide. There are no data or roaming charges for use.
If your Stromer is not switched on for 18 months, the SIM card is automatically switched to inactive. To reactivate it, please contact your dealer, who in turn will get in touch with Stromer Technical Support. Take advantage of our Store locator to find a specialist dealer near you.
You can attach a trailer to your Stromer Speed Pedelec. For this, you will need the Trailer Plate Kit as a coupling.
Note: The legal regulations regarding the use of trailers and child seats with Speed Pedelecs may vary by country. Please inquire with the relevant authorities in your country to determine whether using a trailer is permitted.
Please be aware that the handling of your Stromer E-bike may change with a trailer. Some trailers have a tendency to tip in tight curves. Therefore, drive cautiously and adjust your speed and riding style to the conditions. Some trailers are approved for use only on bicycles or pedelecs (pedal assistance up to 25 km/h) by their manufacturers. Please follow the instructions of the respective manufacturers without fail. The legal regulations regarding the use of trailers with Speed Pedelecs may vary by country. Please inquire with the relevant authorities in your country to determine whether using a trailer is permitted.
Stromer E-bike: Permissible total weight. This means: Vehicle including battery (approximately 30 kg) plus rider, luggage, and trailer.
For Stromer models with 27.5" inch rims, the permissible total weight is 150 kg. For Stromer models with 26" inch rims, the permissible total weight is 140 kg. The permissible total weight is also indicated on all vehicles on the silver sticker inside the battery compartment.
Child seats as well as FollowMe (also known as shadow bike) are not permitted to be mounted on a Stromer E-bike.
SIM card for Stromer OMNI
For the operation of the Stromer s-pedelec as well as for the use of Stromer OMNI, the bike communicates via the cell network. A SIM card is permanently installed in the bike for this. The SIM card cannot be removed or swapped.
Good cell network reception is essential for communication. The OMNI functions may therefore be limited to some extent inside buildings.
Stromer OMNI is available for Stromer ST1 X, ST2, ST2 S, ST3 und ST5.
Stromer e-bikes: Theft protection
Stromer e-bikes offer you an effective theft protection. If you lock your Stromer e-bike, you alone are able to switch it back on. Theft mode is activated if the locked Stromer e-bike is moved or pushed for an extended period of time. The motor is blocked and the position of the Stromer bike is recorded periodically if a cell network connection exists. This makes your Stromer bike an unattractive proposition for pilferers.
Stromer E-Bike: Insurance and insurance partners
When you buy a Stromer bike in Switzerland, one-year TCS insurance is included in the price.
In the Netherlands and Belgium there is a similar offer in cooperation with VAB.
You can find more information about Stromer e-bike insurance on our insurance page.
Stromer E-Bike: Private leasing and financing
Currently, we do not offer our own financing model for private individuals.
However, many dealers offer their own leasing and financing models. You can configure your selected Stromer e-bike and, in the last step, request the options directly from your Stromer dealer. They will inform you in detail about the different possibilities and terms.
Learn even more about e-bike leasing and leasing for employees on our leasing page.
Stromer OMNI BT app: Setting your PIN
No, you have to set a PIN yourself via the Stromer OMNI BT app.
Stromer ST1, ST1 X, ST2, ST2 S, ST3, ST5: Compulsory registration
Stromer Speed Pedelecs offer motor assistance up to 45 km/h (28 mph) and are therefore legally light motorcycles of class L1e with regard to Directive 2002/2004/EC (USA: Class 3). There is an obligation to register and insure vehicles of this category in most European countries. Before riding your Stromer for the first time, it is essential that you obtain information from your registration authority about the applicable national regulations for this vehicle category.
You can find further information in our Overview of the legal regulations for Pedelecs and Speed Pedelecs in Switzerland and the EU.

To activate Autolock, open “SETTINGS”/“AUTOLOCK” in the Stromer OMNI app and set a timer. The minimum period that can be set at the timer is three minutes.
If you have activated the Autolock function by app, here you can set a time after which your Stromer is automatically locked once you have parked it. To unlock it, enter your PIN in the touchscreen when you switch on the bike.
Note:
Autolock can only be activated via the Stromer OMNI app. Users without an app can lock the Stromer bike directly via the touchscreen.
If you ride off on a locked bike, after a short time the anti-theft mode is activated.
If Autolock is not activated, the bike is automatically switched off if it remains inactive for 5 minutes without being locked.

How-to video for all Stromer models with OMNI Interface (ST1 X, ST2, ST2 S):
Stromer ST2 S (OMNI Interface C): Charging the electronic shifting system
The Shimano XTR Di2 is the first electronic mountain bike shifting system. Instead of a mechanical connection between shift lever and rear derailleur, the shifting commands are transmitted electrically allowing 100 % precise control. The fewer mechanical components allow for less maintenance as well as better shifting quality.
In the Shimano XTR Di2 the control is completely integrated into the display, which shows all important information such as charge status, gear position and shift mode. The battery of the Shimano XTR Di2 shifting system is also charged via the display. The ST2 S is equipped for this with a USB charging socket.
Please observe the following when charging the Shimano XTR Di2 battery via your Stromer:
- Connect ST2 S charger to Stromer.
- Switch on Stromer.
- Connect the Shimano XTR Di2 charger to Stromer USB charging socket and connect to the Shimano XTR Di2 unit.
Depending on the shifting frequency and temperature, one charging cycle of the shifting system can be sufficient for up to 2,500 km. A full charge takes about 90 minutes.
For further information on the rear derailleur, display and switches, please refer to the user manual.
Stromer ST1 (external display): Switching between assistance modes

- Assistance mode 3: High motor assistance for maximum speed.
In the display, the selected assistance mode is highlighted. If assistance modes 1/2/3 are not marked, you are in no-assistance mode and have no motor assistance.
Stromer ST1 (external display): Selecting assistance mode or regenerative braking mode
Manual regenerative braking mode
Energy recovery is normally active during braking. It can also be activated manually by selecting the mode, however. Select a “Recup Mode” to recover energy and thereby brake electrically. The current strength for regenerative braking is a maximum of 5 amps. To protect the battery, regenerative braking is only active when battery charge is low.
Assistance mode
The Stromer has four different assistance modes:
- 1 – Eco (150 %)
- 2 – City (200 %)
- 3 – Tour (250 %)
- 4 – Power (300 %)
When idling (“Zero mode”), nothing is shown in the mode display and the motor does not provide any assistance.

Stromer ST1 (external display): Rectifying faults
To rectify faults on your ST1 (external display), proceed as follows:
- Try to identify the problem using the troubleshooting list below.
- If your problem is listed in the troubleshooting list, try to solve the problem with the associated suggested solution.
- If this is not possible or if your problem is not listed, contact a Stromer service partner.
Problem:
The Stromer ST1 (external display) does not offer assistance or only irregularly.
Solution:
Switch off the interface. Make sure that the pedals are completely free of load. Switch the interface back on and try it again.
The brake sensor on the right brake lever may be misaligned. As a result, it sends a constant switch-off signal to the motor. Disconnect the connector of the brake sensor to the interface and try it again. If the problem is solved by this, you can have the brake sensor reset during the next service.
Problem:
After switching on, four zeros (“0000”) appear on the display and the first digit flashes.
Solution:
The system lock was activated when the power was turned off. To deactivate the system lock, see “Locking/unlocking system”.
Problem:
The interface cannot be switched on.
Solution:
Change the interface's battery. This must be removed from the handlebar for this. You require a Phillips head screwdriver and a button battery (CR2032) for this. You can also have this work performed by a Stromer service partner.
Problem:
The control unit switches on but the battery indicator light flashes even though the battery is charged.
Solution:
Check the connections. Contact the nearest Stromer service partner if the problem persists.
Stromer E-Bike: Change of ownership
With the new Stromer OMNI app (release June 2021, from version 3.0.0), you can change the owner yourself (see “Pairing” function). To do this, the previous owner must first remove the bike in the app so that it can be reassigned.

Stromer ST2 S (OMNI Interface C): Function of the electronic shifting system
The Shimano XTR Di2 is the first electronic mountain bike shifting system. Instead of a mechanical connection between shift lever and rear derailleur, the shifting commands are transmitted electrically. Shimano thus allows a 100 % precise control.

On the latest ST5 models, the charging socket is located in the handlebar grip. Older models can be retrofitted with a conversion kit. Your Stromer dealer can order and install this for you.
Stromer ST1 X, ST2, ST2 S, ST3, ST5: E-bike GPS
Stromer e-bikes equipped with OMNI C have an integrated GPS module. This allows you to locate the vehicle periodically via the Stromer OMNI app. If the theft mode of the Stromer e-bike is activated, the position of the bike is recorded via the GPS module.
The GPS module cannot be switched off. Third parties are unable to view the data, however, and the position is only determined if you use the Stromer OMNI app to inquire about the location of your bike, for example, or if theft mode is activated. A GPS signal is required so that the position of the Stromer bike can be pinpointed via GPS. This is strongest outdoors.

If your Stromer is stolen without the theft mode activated, you can activate it manually via the Stromer OMNI app. The Stromer can only be taken out of theft mode by using the Stromer OMNI app.
Please note that the theft mode is only effective if the battery is in the bike and has a minimum residual charge.
Stromer e-Bike: Motor temperature regulation and protection against overheating
The motor temperature of your Stromer e-bike increases at a higher rate under heavy load. The load on the motor rises with:
- Higher total weight
- Lower individual output
- Lower speed
- Steady climb
If the motor reaches excessively high temperatures, this can lead to overheating and consequently to motor failure in conventional systems. The intelligent Stromer system monitors temperature development in the motor. Output is automatically reduced at high temperatures in order to prevent overheating of the e-bike motor. While this may temporarily lead to reduced assistance, it effectively prevents motor failure.
A bar displays the energy flow in the ride screen. The higher the output, the longer the bar. If the output of the e-bike motor is reduced due to the high temperature, this bar is shortened accordingly.
However, the output of the motor is primarily dependent on your own pedaling force and not on the motor temperature. A short bar does not automatically mean that the system is running at its thermal limit. In case of overheating, the assistance switches off automatically. Give the motor time to cool down and then continue riding.

Stromer vehicle papers / COC documents lost
If you have lost the vehicle papers / COC documents (Certificate of Conformity) for your Stromer S-Pedelec, please contact your Stromer dealer. You can find a Stromer dealer near you via our Store locator.
To apply for new COC papers, please inform your dealer of your Stromer’s VIN. This can be found on the inside of the battery compartment or under the right chainstay.
COC papers are only produced for Stromer bikes sold in the EU. Stromer bikes sold in Switzerland and all countries outside Switzerland have a vehicle registration document. If you lose your vehicle registration document, please contact your respective registration office.
Stromer E-Bike: CoC papers for EU and Germany
Stromer bikes produced for the Swiss market do not have a CoC (Certificate of Conformity), but instead are delivered directly with a vehicle registration document.
CoC papers for Germany and the EU can only be issued if the bike complies with the EU standard: A German Stromer dealer may have to retrofit the bike accordingly – for example by fitting reflectors in the spokes. They must then confirm this to our sales department so that a CoC can be issued.
Alternatively, you can use the customs documents and the Swiss vehicle registration document to arrange for an inspection by TÜV in order to obtain a German registration. However, requirements may vary by state.
Stromer E-Bike: OMNI BT and OMNI app
If you use the Stromer BT App, the OMNI Interface of your bike cannot communicate via the cellular network. The main functions of the new Stromer OMNI app require an OMNI Interface capable of mobile communications. It is possible to retrofit your Stromer ST1 with an OMNI C Interface. Please contact your Stromer dealer for details.
Stromer OMNI app: Update to latest version
The update to the latest version of the Stromer OMNI app is not mandatory, but the new functions will only be available after the update is performed. We therefore recommend that you perform the update. The existing Stromer OMNI app will still work.
Stromer E-Bike: Suspension fork and suspension seatpost
The Stromer e-bike suspension fork and the suspension seatpost offer additional comfort when riding on uneven routes and protect the wrists and back from vibrations and impacts. They are available as an upgrade option.
All current Stromer models can be configured or retrofitted with a suspension fork as well as a suspension seat post. You can add the suspension options when buying a new bike in the Stromer e-bike Configurator or order it via your Stromer dealer.
Please note that Stromer e-bikes are not mountain bikes even with suspension forks. They are therefore not suitable for difficult terrain.
Suspension forks are available for the Stromer models ST5, ST3, ST2 Belt Drive and ST1 (OMNI B and OMNI C). They can either be ordered directly ex works during the configuration via your Stromer dealer or can be retrofitted by the dealer at an additional charge.
Suspension seatposts are available for the Stromer models ST5, ST3, ST2 Belt Drive and ST1 (OMNI B and OMNI C). They can either be ordered directly ex works during the configuration via your Stromer dealer or can be retrofitted by the dealer at an additional charge.

Stromer OMNI app: Privacy
See item 3 in the data protection guidelines for the Stromer OMNI app for specifications.
Your ST2 / ST1X is a bike that still has the monochrome OMNI (black-and-white display). Since the 2G network was switched off, you can no longer connect to the bike with the app.
For this reason, you also cannot reset the PIN. Unfortunately, we also no longer have access to the bike and therefore cannot set you a new PIN remotely.
However, you have the option of having your Stromer dealer remove the OMNI and send it to us at the factory. We have the possibility here on site to unlock the OMNI and set a new PIN. Please contact your dealer, who will arrange this for you.
Differences between OMNI Interface C and OMNI Interface B
Through the limited connectivity, certain functions such as localization, communication with the app or remote updates are not available with Stromer OMNI Interface B. The time is also not set automatically and is not available on the Stromer ST1 with OMNI Interface B at the moment. The Smartlock functions are also not available. Because there is no brightness sensor with OMNI Interface B, the background color of the display can only be manually changed between bright (“DAY”) and dark (“NIGHT”).
Differences between OMNI app and OMNI BT app
The Stromer OMNI BT app is only available with the Stromer ST1 (from model year 2019, with OMNI Interface B), while the Stromer OMNI app is compatible with all models with OMNI Interface (black/white) or OMNI Interface C (color).
The Stromer OMNI BT app communicates directly with the Stromer via Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) and thus even works when the cell network reception is poor. The Stromer must therefore always be within Bluetooth range of the smartphone to use the app.
Due to the limited connectivity of the Stromer ST1, functions such as localization or the statistics are not available in the Stromer OMNI BT app.

Stromer e-bike regenerative braking
Your Stromer ST1 X, ST1, ST2, ST2 S, ST3 or ST5 supports you when braking during longer downhill runs and offers the regenerative braking mode for this purpose. On the one hand this can be used as a motor brake to protect the brakes when riding downhill, and on the other hand it returns power to the battery.
The difference between the regenerative braking modes “Recup 1” and “Recup 2” is the strength of the regenerative braking.
If you set the assistance to “zero” and press the minus button once, “Recup 1” will switch on. If you press the minus button again, “Recup 2” switches on.
“Recup 1” is used for light downhill runs and “Recup 2” for steeper downhill runs. If you ride with a full battery, the regenerative braking is inactive to protect the battery.
How-to video for all Stromer models with OMNI Interface (ST1 X, ST2, ST2 S):
Stromer S-Pedelec: Assistance modes
All Stromer Speed Pedelecs have a motor assistance in three different assistance modes that boost your muscle strength up to a speed of 45 km/h. The Stromer ST5 is additionally equipped with a Sport mode that injects additional power at the press of a button. Levels one and three are fixed; speed, torque and agility can be adjusted individually in the motor tuning for level two.
The battery capacity refers to the stored amount of electricity of a battery and is give in the unit ‘Ah’ (ampere hour). It also determines how long the battery can be used: A battery with one ampere hour can transfer a charge of one ampere for an hour.
For the range of an e-bike or Speed Pedelec, however, it is not the battery capacity that is decisive but instead the energy in ‘Wh’ (Watt hours). The range depends greatly on a number of parameters such as weight, topography and altitude difference, road conditions and surface, temperature, weather, wind, tire pressure, assistance level, shifting system, cadence, riding style, condition of the wear parts, air resistance, riding position or the number of stops per ride.
Connectivity means the connection of your Speed Pedelec with the Stromer OMNI app on your smartphone. The Stromer ST1 with older OMNI B connectivity is paired to the smartphone via Bluetooth. The functions are more limited here compared to the OMNI C. GPS localization is not possible, for example. Stromer therefore offers you the opportunity to order the ST1 with OMNI C color display as a factory option. This option can be selected in the Configurator.
The color display on-board computer OMNI (2G technology) and OMNI C (3G technology) offer a number of functions that can be called up via the Stromer OMNI app including GPS localization, Smartlock function, individual motor settings in assistance level 2 and storing of various user statistics.
The Stromer OMNI app is available in the Google Play Store or Apple App Store.
Stromer S-Pedelec: GPS localization
All Stromer Speed Pedelecs with Stromer OMNI Interface and OMNI Interface C can be localized via GPS if the vehicle is switched on and is connected to a cellular network.
Stromer Speed Pedelecs are distinguished by the maximum integration of all elements for the clean Stromer look that informs the brand’s identity.
When developing its products, Stromer has forged its own path from the very beginning in order to develop the perfect commuter bike. The Stromer V1 was the first Speed Pedelec with a battery integrated into the downtube. This integrated design remains an identifying feature of Stromer to this day. The award winning integrated design combines aesthetics and technology to perfection here: from the tidy cockpit, the on-board computer integrated in the toptube and the sporty, striking frame silhouette with internal cable routing to the virtually invisible motor in the rear axle. The balanced weight distribution allows the bike to agilely cruise through city traffic with safe roadholding. The side ejection of the battery is also patented.
The e-bike range depends on various parameters such as rider weight, topography, pedaling force, wind force, battery power and battery age, among other things.
The high-quality Stromer e-bike batteries available in four power levels and the efficient rear-wheel motor allow peak ranges of up to 180 km and with the highest motor assistance are still capable of reaching 60 km. Your Stromer e-bike achieves an extra range of up to 20 % through regenerative braking. Stromer batteries can be charged quickly at every socket – after removal at the press of a button or directly in the bike.
Stromer E-Bike: Regenerative braking
During regenerative braking, the braking energy is recuperated. This principle involves the energy released during braking or in coasting mode being converted into electrical energy by means of recuperation by the generator. This energy is stored in the battery and used for acceleration. The range of the Stromer batteries can be increased by up to 20 % through regenerative braking. Regenerative braking can also be used as an engine brake when driving downhill, provided the battery is not fully charged.

For the Stromer ST1 X, ST2 and ST2 SE models, the permissible total weight is 140 kg. That means: Vehicle incl. battery (approx. 28 kg) plus driver, panniers and trailer.
The permissible total weight is also indicated on the silver sticker on the inside of the battery compartment on all vehicles.
For more information on the individual bikes, please refer to the corresponding manuals.
Stromer e-bikes: Rear-wheel motor
The powerful Stromer rear-wheel motor is the most efficient drive for Speed Pedelecs. It transmits all its power directly to the hub – for acceleration without delay from the first few feet. Because the torque remains unaffected by gear changes, you can steplessly take advantage of the full dynamics from 0 to 45 km/h – with the utmost running smoothness and virtual silence.
Another advantage: less wear – the crank, sprocket and chain are not tasked with the transmission of the motor power as with the mid-mounted motor. This saves money. Our technology also allows us to use regenerative braking, which enables a greater range.
Stromer OMNI connect
With the cloud-based platform Stromer OMNI connect, Stromer has developed its own communication system for its Speed Pedelecs: You can set the riding characteristics according to your needs using the on-board computer. Intelligent functions like automatic locking (“Smartlock”), keyless battery ejection (“Keyless”), anti-theft protection with GPS localization and individual motor settings make the daily commute even more comfortable. The Stromer OMNI app also allows your Stromer to communicate with you at any time. The GPS function is not possible on the Stromer ST1 with OMNI B, as the network communication occurs via Bluetooth here. You have the option, however, of upgrading to OMNI C or ordering the model directly with OMNI C when purchasing a new bike.
Stromer OMNI app: “Community” function
Under “Community” you can see the rider statistics overall average of the Stromer community, meaning all Stromer riders with a connected bike.
How-to-video:
A hub gear is a shifting system installed in the rear hub. On the new Stromer ST2 models, it is integrated into the rear-wheel motor. The hub gear is low-maintenance and quiet and allows gear shifting even at a standstill.
The carbon belt drive replaces the classic bicycle chain on the new Stromer ST2. It has several advantages compared to the chain drive: It is low-maintenance, quiet and offers optimum power transmission.
The Stromer ST2 Launch Edition is equipped with the most powerful battery BQ983 as standard for a range up to 180 km. The Stromer ST2 Belt Drive standard model is delivered with the battery BQ814 for a range up to 150 km.
The ST2 Launch Edition also comes with the Stromer Amsterdam Double Bag carrier bag.
The ST2 Launch Edition is only available in Royal Blue and with a sports frame. The standard model is available in Royal Blue and Dark Grey as well as with the sports or comfort frame.
Stromer OMNI: User statistics and bike statistics
The user statistics in Stromer OMNI show how many kilometers you have already ridden as a person. This is independent of the bike: As soon as you ride a Stromer e-bike that is registered in your name, the kilometers are counted. The bike statistics show the kilometers traveled by the bike, regardless of the rider. Under Community you can see the average of all Stromer e-bike riders.
Stromer E-Bike: TMM torque sensor
The TMM torque sensor measures the torque of an e-bike. On a Stromer S-Pedelec, the torque sensor measures the rear wheel hub motor. It is therefore possible to determine how strongly the driver is pedaling. The power of the drive’s assistance can be coordinated using toque sensors. The strength of assistance can be configured using the app.
The torque is the cross product of force and lever arm and is specified in ‘Nm’ (Newton meters). Figuratively speaking, a force of one newton is generated on a 1 m long lever arm – and thus a torque of one Nm. 1 Newton is equal to the weight force of a mass of approx. 100 g.
Stromer Vehicle identification number (VIN)
The VIN (“Vehicle Identification Number”) is the number with which your Stromer is registered in the COC, the vehicle documents and in our system. You can find the VIN on a label in the battery compartment or under the right chainstay of your Stromer ST1 X, ST1, ST2, ST2 S, ST3 or ST5. We recommend that you always quote the VIN if you have questions about your bike.
Stromer e-bike battery: battery types, care, range and disposal
Stromer e-bikes are equipped with a high-performance lithium-ion battery. This supplies energy to the drive system and all the other electronic components. The battery management system (BMS) developed by Stromer provides overvoltage and undervoltage protection and optimizes the service life of the lithium-ion battery.
Care
You can fully recharge the battery of your Stromer e-bike after every ride. This increases the battery life and you are always ready for the next trip. There is no need for you to run down the battery every time - there is no memory effect. Top up your battery charge as often as possible, do not let it run down to empty and recharge it even if it has only been in use for a short period of time.
Range
The Stromer e-bike batteries are available in four different versions which are compatible with every Stromer model (ST1 X, ST1, ST2, ST2 S, ST3, ST5):
• BQ500 (range approx. 30 – 90 km)
• BQ618 (range approx. 40 – 120 km)
• BQ814 (range approx. 50 – 150 km)
• BQ983 (range approx. 60 – 180 km)
The range depends on the following influences: driving behaviour, weight, topography, road conditions, tyre pressure, outside temperature and support mode.
Disposal
Do not dispose of Stromer batteries and chargers in domestic waste. Get to know the valid national regulations on the disposal of old equipment and batteries. Take used battery chargers and the battery back to your Stromer dealer. In most countries dealers are obliged to take back electrical appliances and batteries.
The Stromer ST2 Belt Drive has a Roxim Z4E Pro headlight with low beam (600 lumen) and high beam (900 lumen). The rear light with brake light is also from Roxim (model R3E). The Stromer ST2 also has the characteristic integrated LED Daylight daytime running light.

See item 3 in the data protection guidelines for the Stromer OMNI app for specifications.
Stromer ST1 X, ST2, ST2 S (OMNI Interface): Display of the battery charge level
In the ride screen you have the option of tracking the battery charge level of your Stromer ST1 X, ST2 or ST2 S. The battery charge level is shown in the form of a bar and a percentage. If the battery is empty, your Stromer bike automatically switches off the motor and switches to no-assistance mode.
The bar above the battery charge level shows the current energy flow. The screen helps you to ride an extended range in an energy-efficient manner. The longer the bar, the greater the energy flow. If the bar starts at the right and moves to the left, it shows the consumption. If the bar starts at the left and moves to the right, the bike is in regenerative braking mode. Current flows back into the battery.
For your safety, a small portion of the battery energy is saved so that the basic functions of your Stromer bike can be guaranteed. The light and the display continue to function for about an hour if the battery is empty and the motor assistance is interrupted.

Stromer e-bikes: Models with anti-lock braking system
At the moment an anti-lock braking system is only available on the Stromer ST5 ABS.
The new Stromer e-bike charger CR246 with floating voltage and 246 Watt output is particularly quiet and compatible with all current Stromer models. It is not available in the USA and not suitable for the octagonal battery BO630 for the earlier models (Stromer ST1 and first generation Stromer V1).
It can be ordered when buying a new bike using our Stromer e-bike Configurator or separately from your Stromer dealer.
Stromer e-bike: Approved tires
With normal Pedelecs with pedal assistance up to 25 km/h, legislation does not prescribe special tires.
For S-Pedelecs with a maximum speed of 45 km/h a special approval of the tires is necessary. Tires with ECE-R75 approval valid throughout Europe are the solution here.
Check your tire pressure before every ride. Our recommendation for Stromer with 27,5"-tires: 2.2 bar/32 PSI.
For Stromer tires in sizes 55-559 (ST2 S, ST2, ST1 X, ST1) a pressure of 3 bar / 43,5 PSI is recommended.
Go ahead and order your desired tires in the Stromer Bike Configurator as well.
You will also find an overview of the Stromer tires available for your Stromer on the respective model pages:
Stromer ST5
Stromer ST3
Stromer ST1
Your Stromer dealer will gladly advise you about tires.
The following tires are approved for your Stromer ST2 Speed Pedelec:
• Stromer Custom TA754 by Vee Tire
• Stromer E-Gridlock 57-584 by Vee Tire
• Stromer winter tire TW757-57-584
Stromer ST1, ST1 X, ST2, ST2 S, ST3, ST5: Warnings
If the motor is under heavy load for a longer period, e.g. on long ascents, it may overheat. In order to avoid burns, make sure that you do not touch the motor with your hands, feet or legs.
In order to avoid a life-threatening electric shock, make sure that no objects can be held through the various openings in your Stromer bike.
Make sure that your Stromer S-Pedelec cannot be used by third parties without your consent.
Stromer ST5 ABS: Maintenance of the anti-lock braking system
The anti-lock braking system of the Stromer ST5 ABS may only be serviced by authorized Stromer dealers.
Stromer OMNI Interface: Exporting statistics data
This process is unfortunately not technically possible at the moment.
The warranty extension is an automatic process which can only be executed via the link sent in the email. If the deadline has expired, then the link will automatically stop working and unfortunately we no longer have the possibility of activating the warranty extension. You cannot extend something that no longer exists.
Stromer ST5 ABS: ABS icon lights up yellow
When the Stromer ST5 ABS is switched on, the yellow ABS icon automatically appears on the display. As soon as you ride faster than 5 km/h and lightly apply the left front brake, the anti-lock braking system is activated and the icon goes out on the display.
If the ABS icon remains lit up yellow, have your Stromer dealer check the anti-lock braking system of your ST5 ABS. The brake still works, but without anti-lock protection.
Stromer E-Bike: Battery discharges itself
If you store your Stromer Speed Pedelec in anti-theft mode (locked mode), the anti-theft mode uses power and the battery will be empty after about 10 days. The anti-theft mode was developed to park the bike for a short time, for example while shopping. It is not suitable for monitoring the Speed Pedelec for an extended period of time. If it will be parked for a longer period, you should therefore switch off the bike and additionally secure it with a lock.
The battery management system (BMS) also consumes a small amount of power, slowly discharging the battery. If you do not use your bike for a longer period of time, we recommend connecting the bike to the charger CR246, which offers the option of a floating charge.
The floating charge automatically keeps the battery in the optimal charging range. This means that the charging process is stopped after a full charge until the charge level of the battery has fallen back to around 60 % after about 3 weeks. The charge level is then maintained at 65 – 80 % until the charger is disconnected from the battery.
Stromer OMNI: Incorrect location display
The localization of a Stromer Speed Pedelec with an OMNI Interface C works using GNSS (GPS & GLONASS) as well as mobile communications (2G/3G).
If a GNSS position can be determined while the bike is switched on, this is transmitted to and displayed in the Stromer OMNI app. The currently valid GNSS position is visualized on the OMNI Interface C by means of a white pin icon in the status bar.
If no GNSS position can be determined, instead the position of the cell tower that is currently being used by the OMNI Interface is shown, if known. A currently valid mobile communications position is visualized on the OMNI Interface by means of a gray pin icon in the status bar.
With the position of the cell tower, however, it is not possible to determine the precise location of the bike. The Stromer OMNI app currently does not show a visualization of whether it is displaying a GNSS or a mobile communications position.
Before transmitting the GNSS position, OMNI firmware versions 4.1.3.3 to 4.2.3.8 validate whether this is within the transmission range of the currently used cell tower. If this is not the case, the position of the cell tower is transmitted. From firmware version 4.2.4.6, this validation is no longer performed as there is no guarantee that the position of the cell tower is correct.
Total distance in user statistics and Stromer OMNI app
The statistics in the Stromer OMNI app provide a quick overview of the use of your Stromer s-pedelec. It is divided into “Bike Statistics” and “User Statistics”.
Bike statistics
Bike statistics shows the trip and total distance of your Stromer and corresponds to the display on the bike. The total distance driven is displayed, including rides of a possible previous owner.
User statistics
User statistics shows the history of your personal Stromer usage and includes all Stromer trips you have made as a registered user. So all your trips are added up, regardless of which of your Stromer bikes you have made them on. Rides that were made on your Stromer before you were registered as an owner on the vehicle are not considered. Therefore, the total distance of the Bike statistics may differ from the total distance of the User Statistics.
Note:
User statistics is automatically created from the status messages sent by the bike on a regular basis. If the bike has no cell network reception for a longer period of time although it is being ridden, there may be deviations in the distances actually covered and the distances shown per day.
How-to video for all Stromer models with OMNI Interface (ST1 X, ST2, ST2 S):
Stromer ST5 ABS: ABS indicator light does not go out
Please restart your Stromer ST5 ABS. As soon as a speed of 5 km/h is exceeded, the indicator light should go out. If it remains lit, contact your dealer.
Stromer ST5 ABS: Anti-lock braking system on the front wheel
The effect of the braking force is highest and most significant on the front wheel. Currently, there is no anti-lock braking system for e-bikes that works on both front and rear wheels.
Stromer ST1 (OMNI Interface B): Light button is not working
As there is no independent daytime running light integrated on the Stromer ST1 (OMNI Interface B), the low beams must always be switched on. There is therefore no light button function of the controls.
Motor not properly supplying power
If the motor of your Stromer s-pedelec is not supplying power, the brake sensor may not be set correctly. Have setting of the brake sensor checked by your dealer.
