How do the recuperation mode and the cruise control function work?

Cruise control: Automatically maintaining the speed when riding downhill

In its role as a downhill assistant, the cruise control function supplements the previous regenerative braking and is active from Stromer firmware version 4.4.3.3. The cruise control automatically adapts the motor resistance to maintain the speed that was driven when the cruise control was activated (pressing and holding the minus button). The cruise control speed can be adjusted up or down in predefined speed steps by pressing the plus or minus button.

In Menu/Bike/Recup Mode, settings can be changed for regenerative braking. Here you can choose between cruise control (default function) or the previous regenerative braking. The speed steps (default: 5 km/h) and the pedal force for automatic deactivation of the motor brake can also be set here.

Recup Mode: Stromer e-bike regenerative braking

Using the basic Recup Mode regenerative braking assistance:

  • For this, press and hold the minus control button for 2 seconds.
  • Briefly press the plus or minus button again to adapt the braking power.
  • To end regenerative braking, press and hold the plus or minus button again for 2 seconds.
  • Regenerative braking is also terminated automatically if the speed falls below a specified minimum and you start pedaling.

The current strength for regenerative braking is a maximum of 15 amps. To protect the battery, regenerative braking is reduced as battery charge increases. This means that when the battery is almost fully charged, regenerative braking is barely or no longer noticeable.

Can I fit a child seat on my Stromer e-bike?

Stromer e-Bike: Child seat

Before fitting a child seat on your Stromer e-bike, bear in mind that children are protected better in a trailer than in a child seat on the carrier.

Please remember that a child seat affects the road behavior of the Stromer. Ride with caution and adjust your speed and riding style to the conditions. The high center of gravity in particular makes parking the Stromer on the side stand more difficult. The Stromer could tip over with the child still in the seat. Please inquire with the responsible authorities about the legal situation regarding the carriage of children on S-Pedelecs.

Important: When fitting child seats, please note that the Stromer carrier has only been tested for a maximum load of 17 kg/22.5 kg (depending on the model). Therefore, only use child seats that can be mounted directly on the seat tube (ST2 Ø = 42 mm). Especially in the case of comfort frames with a low step-over height, there is not always sufficient space for the bracket. We therefore recommend checking whether it can be fitted before you buy.

Direct link
How do I adjust the sensor sensitivity of my Stromer s-pedelec?

Adjusting the sensor sensitivity

You can adjust the responsiveness of your Stromer Bike to your riding style. With the sensor sensitivity, you can define the ratio between rider power and motor assistance. A higher sensitivity leads to your Stromer already reacting to the slightest pressure on the pedals.

Press “SENSOR” in the display and adjust the sensitivity there with the plus and minus button.

Note:
A change to the sensor sensitivity influences the responsiveness of your Stromer in all assistance levels: High sensitivity reduces the range because it generates a higher power consumption. You can also set the sensitivity via the Stromer OMNI app under “Motor tuning”.

I have taken my Stromer e-bike from Switzerland to the EU – where can I obtain CoC papers?

Stromer E-Bike: CoC papers for EU and Germany

Stromer Bikes produced for the Swiss market do not have a CoC (Certificate of Conformity), but instead are delivered directly with a vehicle registration document.

CoC papers for Germany and the EU can only be issued if the bike complies with the EU standard: A German Stromer dealer may have to retrofit the bike accordingly – for example by fitting reflectors in the spokes. They must then confirm this to our sales department so that a CoC can be issued.

Alternatively, you can use the customs documents and the Swiss vehicle registration document to arrange for an inspection by TÜV in order to obtain a German registration. However, requirements may vary by state.
