Test rides
What does the range of an e-bike mean and what influences it?
The range of an e-bike, meaning how far you can ride on a single battery charge, is influenced by many factors. These include the rider’s weight, the terrain (such as hills and elevation changes), the surface (asphalt, gravel, wet or dry), weather conditions (wind, rain, temperature), and tire pressure. The level of motor assistance, selected gear, pedaling cadence, riding style, average speed, riding position, and the number of stops per trip also play a role. Even the condition of wear-and-tear components and the age and capacity of the battery can significantly affect the range. The more efficiently you ride, the farther you’ll go.
Is a test ride free?
In most cases, test rides are free. However, some dealers may charge a small fee, which is usually refunded if you decide to buy the bike. Preparing a high-quality test ride takes time and care: from setting up the bike to ensuring it’s perfectly adjusted for you. As some customers choose to purchase their bike through a different channel after a test ride, this approach helps dealers continue offering a premium experience for everyone.
How long does a test ride last?
The duration of a test ride varies by dealer, but it usually lasts between 30 and 60 minutes. This gives you enough time to get a good feel for the bike. Some dealers also offer longer test periods, allowing you to try the bike on your daily routes.
What if the dealer hasn’t contacted me?
If you’ve requested a test ride and haven’t heard back within a few days, we recommend contacting the dealer directly. You can also choose another dealer via the dealer finder.
