What do the regenerative braking modes “Recup 1” and “Recup 2” mean for the Stromer e-bike?

Stromer e-bike regenerative braking

Your Stromer supports you when braking during longer downhill runs and offers the regenerative braking mode for this purpose. On the one hand this can be used as a motor brake to protect the brakes when riding downhill, and on the other hand it returns power to the battery.

The difference between the regenerative braking modes “Recup 1” and “Recup 2” is the strength of the regenerative braking.

If you set the assistance to “zero” and press the minus button once, “Recup 1” will switch on. If you press the minus button again, “Recup 2” switches on.

“Recup 1” is used for light downhill runs and “Recup 2” for steeper downhill runs. If you ride with a full battery, the regenerative braking is inactive to protect the battery.
