The first line of defense when it comes to Safety is visibility. The Stromer Smart Helmet by Unit1 has three light elements fully integrated into the design that are seen at eye-level (instead of handlebar level).
Each has a specific function geared towards visibility and/or communication with drivers. The result is a helmet that makes the rider more visible and predictable on the road.

Impact Protection.
If the time ever comes for an accident to happen, the Stromer Smart Helmet is built for the job.
The Stromer Smart Helmet by Unit1 was designed and rigorously tested up to the highest safety standards (watch test) and features an ABS hard-shell and an EPS liner to absorb impact and protect the rider’s head. The helmet is fully certified under CPSC and EN 1078, the two major international safety certifications. The innovative Mips Safety System is integrated in the Stromer Smart Helmet, absorbing extra energy in the event of rotational impacts.

Fall Detection.
Even after an accident, The Stromer Smart Helmet can still help the rider.
Equipped with accelerometers, the Smart Helmet can detect a hard fall. If the rider is unresponsive, the helmet will send out an SOS text to a pre-determined emergency contact, including the rider’s location.

Hidden Light.
The cherry on top.
How do you add lights to a helmet without ruining it? You hide them. The Design Team came up with a way of expanding the light footprint of the helmet without ruining the minimal look: we developed a unique fabric that is water, dust & UV-proof BUT let’s light through.
The result is a light you only see when it’s on that has a unique, mesmerizing effect. The Hidden Light is also fully programmable and supports custom animations and color change.
Magnetic Buckle.
Buckle up in a super special way.
The Stromer Smart Helmet by Unit1 features a fidlock magnetic buckle that enables single-hand operation and makes it super easy to put on and take off the helmet.
The buckle itself is stronger than traditional buckles, withstanding up to 65kg of force.
Ventilation.
Optimal ventilation and minimalistic look.
In order to maintain the helmet’s minimalistic look, a ventilation system had to be designed that wouldn’t require a dozen holes.
The ventilation system has two hidden air inlets (just above the eyes), two large vents on the top and one large vent on the back. This creates internal airflow front-to-back as the rider moves forward, sucking cold air in and expelling hot air.
Mips.
Mips stands for Multi-Directional Impact Protection System and is a low friction layer that sits between the rider’s head and the inside of the helmet and allows for a sliding motion of 10 to 15mm in all directions. It doesn’t impact the fit at all.
What does Mips do?
It allows the helmet to rotate slightly during a rotational impact, absorbing extra energy and increasing protection to your brain.
How to connect your Smart Helmet to your Stromer.
- Turn on both your Stromer bike and your helmet
- On your Stromer Bike, got to Menu > Bluetooth > Helmet
- Switch the service to ON
- Go to Devices and select Search under Available Devices
- Select the Stromer Smart Helmet
- The helmet will then be listed under Paired Devices
