Stromer’s claim is developing Speed-Pedelecs that are always a wheel length ahead. The combination of connectivity, power, range and design has earned the Swiss brand several international awards, including the newest addition: Stromer’s top model ST5 has won the 2020 Design & Innovation Award.
The Design & Innovation Award is not only a quality label but also a benchmark for the most powerful products from the bike industry; it is a unique prize: in contrast to other awards, the jury, consisting of international journalists, professional test riders and industry experts, carries out real product tests to form a well-founded, comprehensive assessment.
In their verdict on the ST5, the jury found in part: “The look is very classy, the integration of cables and lights elegant. Even at high speed, the bike impresses with its agile yet smooth handling. The motor power of the Stromer rear-wheel hub motor is stunning. In most cases it is possible to easily reach a speed of up to 45 kph, even uphill.” It also states: “The combination of aesthetics, riding fun and integration on the part of the Stromer ST5 is unparalleled and won over every member of the jury, without exception.”
Thanks to the 983 Wh battery, the ST5 is capable of traveling distances of up to 180 km. The fully integrated design and exclusive high-end components guarantee the best performance and excellent riding dynamics. The impressive motor output of the 850 W rear-wheel motor and the Sport mode for additional acceleration guarantee so much riding fun that it transforms the daily commute from an annoyance to a source of energy. It is up to the customer to decide how sporty the Speed bike should ultimately be: The Stromer suspension kit and carrier can be ordered as factory options but can also be retrofitted.
Both the assembly and the quality check of the top model – as well as for all other Stromer bikes – are performed entirely at the company headquarters in Oberwangen near Bern, just one floor below the Development department.
